Senior Or Principal Primary Engineer

Job Description Due to continued growth in the energy sector, we're expanding our team and looking for a Senior or Principal Primary Engineer to join our AECOM Energy team in Hamilton or Auckland.

This is a key technical role supporting clients across the generation, industrial, and transmission distribution sectors, working on medium and high-voltage (MV / HV) electrical design projects throughout New Zealand.

How you'll make a difference : Lead and deliver conceptual and detailed designs of primary electrical systems.

Select appropriate electrical equipment to meet technical and client requirements.

Produce and review electrical drawings (with CAD team support).

Prepare technical specifications and construction contract documentation.

Conduct construction monitoring and on-site inspections to ensure design compliance.

Support the commissioning of new electrical and control systems.

Qualifications The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role.

The qualities that help you thrive : Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of experience in MV or HV equipment design e.g. cables, switchgear, transformers, etc.
