Job description

The Senior Business Development Manager reports to the Head of Executive Education (EE) in ESSEC Asia Pacific in Singapore.

He / She will be part of the Business Development team responsible for developing the business strategy for both customized and open enrolment (OE) executive programs (specifically for the Academy of Luxury and Professional Education Academy), growing the business and meeting the revenue targets as agreed for this role.

In close collaboration with the team members, the Senior Business Development Manager will be given specific business objectives and targets to expand ESSEC's presence and executive education business in the region, primarily leveraging on the capabilities of ESSEC's academic heritage, its faculty, and relevant external faculty.

The Senior Business Development Manager needs to build meaningful business contacts and networks, and manage the marketing plan and leads generation process.

He / She is expected to manage the leads database (using Salesforce) as well as tracking and engaging ESSEC and EE alumni for purposes of networking and engagement.

He / She will be someone who is suited to work in a multicultural environment and work with colleagues across different ESSEC campuses.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the development of the business strategy pertaining to the assigned portfolio and meeting revenue targets as assigned by / agreed with the Head of Executive Education (EE)

Execute the strategy and business plans to achieve revenue from new / incremental custom and open enrolment (OE) executive education programs through effective marketing and promotion efforts

Develop the marketing plan for the OE business and execute it effectively with the EE marketing team to achieve lead generation targets

Activate and manage leads, and curate and maintain the database of potential, existing and past Executive Education customers for the purposes of leveraging on the database for marketing efforts

Where appropriate, work closely with colleagues from other ESSEC campuses, faculty and the program team to develop learning journeys and proposals, introduce new content and solutions into both new and existing EE programs

Together with the Head of EE, expand ESSEC's presence in ASEAN and within APAC through networking, learning events and Masterclasses / webinars

Leverage the school's capabilities, networks and platforms to deliver quality, value-added programs to all clients and participants

Build a sustainable sales and leads pipeline and provide weekly sales tracking and reporting to the Head of EE

Maintain effective communication and work closely with all internal teams to ensure a high-level quality of program delivery

Any other ad-hoc activities as assigned by the Head of EE

This is a non-exhaustive list of duties and can evolve with time or as assigned by the Reporting Line Manager.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree with at least 8 to 10 years of working experience in Sales / Business Development / Account Management.

An accredited adult learning training certification will be considered an advantage.

Possess proven experience in driving new business in line with the organisation's strategic direction, priority targets and budgets

Be able to demonstrate a successful track record in maintaining and growing both existing and new business relationships, especially with global or luxury sector organizations

Have experience / strong interest in curriculum design relating to leadership development programs

Possess exceptional communication and / or sales / negotiation skills with the ability to confidently engage and consult with senior level contacts, internally and externally

Ability to present effectively through written business proposals is a must

Experience using AI business tools for marketing and communication will be considered an advantage

Be able to work on a flexible schedule to support business travel and other business development activities which may sometimes go beyond the typical workday

Thrive on actively contributing to a high performance, data-driven culture

Background in Executive Education and / or experience in developing customised programs for corporates will be an advantage

Working Environment and Pace

The Senior Business Development Manager needs to be able to work independently in a dynamic work environment.

He / She is also expected to work well with different stakeholders and across cultures.

A healthy level of flexibility, autonomy, professional wisdom and agility are required.

Terms of Employment

Working days are from Mondays to Fridays.

Working timings : 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm.

Occasionally, it may be necessary to work beyond the normal working hours due to the nature of the work and the level of responsibility
