Senior Accountant / Business Manager (Richmond, Nelson)

We're looking for an experienced accountant who's ready to step up into a role that blends technical expertise with business leadership.

This is a unique opportunity to join a well known Accounting firm in Richmond, Nelson, where you'll play a pivotal role in both client delivery and running the day-to-day of the local firm.

About the role

Accounting and Advisory (50%) – producing and reviewing accounts, providing taxation advice, and liaising with clients in a public practise setting

Practice Management (50%) – overseeing workflow allocation, invoicing, staff management, and supporting the smooth running of the office (with additional support from our Auckland head office)

You'll lead a small, close-knit team of 4 (including yourself), with 2 accountants and 1 administrator reporting directly to you.

About you

Minimum 3+ years' experience in an accounting practice environment

Strong background in tax advisory, accounts preparation, and client engagement

Proven ability to review work, allocate workflow, and manage a small team

CA or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential – expired or past CAANZ membership will still be considered where experience is relevant.
