Debt Collector

You will be responsible for contacting customers with outstanding debts, negotiating payment arrangements, and maintaining accurate records while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills, persistence, and a customer-focused approach to debt recovery.

Key Responsibilities :

• Ensure full compliance with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and all other relevant regulations
• Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence regarding overdue accounts
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements that are acceptable to both the company and the debtor
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collection activities and customer interactions
• Prepare and send demand letters and formal notices in accordance with legal requirements
• Collaborate with legal team on accounts requiring further action
• Meet or exceed monthly collection targets and performance metrics

Key Requirements :

• Strong knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations, including FDCPA
• Experienced in debt collection, accounts receivable, or similar role
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding collection targets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with computer systems and collection software
• Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and empathetically
