Ko tā mātou mahi - About the role
As a Senior Field Engineer, you’ll take technical ownership of broadcast and telecommunications systems across the region. Your work will include :
Maintaining, upgrading and repairing RF, FM radio, digital microwave, broadcast and telecommunications systems
Installing and commissioning equipment such as transmitters, antennas, IP networking equipment, battery systems, and power solutions
Configuring and testing IP‑based communication equipment and system integrations
Leading site builds, fit‑outs and technical installations from drawings to completion
Providing technical input for scoping, quoting and solution design
Ensuring every site meets Kordia’s standards for safety, reliability and performance
Acting as the key technical liaison for clients across the region
Supporting other Field Engineers and mentoring junior team members
Participating in the 24 / 7 on‑call roster for critical service issues (shared schedule)
This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two days look the same. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, problem‑solving, field work and working with hardware.

We’re looking for someone with strong practical engineering experience and a passion for keeping systems running reliably.
Experience in RF, FM radio, broadcast engineering, telecommunications, or digital microwave systems
Practical experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining technical systems
Strong understanding of IP networks, configuration, and troubleshooting
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and compliance requirements
Solid safety awareness (EWP and working‑at‑heights certifications beneficial)
At least 5 years’ experience in a field‑based technical role
Comfortable working autonomously across a wide geographic region
Advantageous : Limited Electrical Registration (REST), fibre knowledge
