Job Summary :
NEXTGEN IT SERVICES LIMITED is looking for a motivated and committed ICT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN to join our team in our Office in Auckland, New Zealand. You will be responsible for providing hardware maintenance, data centre support, and network solutions. We guarantee a Minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate from $31.00 to $35.00 / hour. You will be required to work as per the roster and be available on weekends and public holidays.

Job Description :
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of hardware and software repair for computers, laptops, tablets and Mobile Phones of all types, including Apple.
- Diagnose software and hardware issues and requirements to provide appropriate solutions to problems.
- Perform tasks such as installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of operating systems like Windows 10, the Latest Windows Servers, Mac OS, and iOS.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of repairing and replacing peripheral equipment such as terminals, printers and modems.
- Upgrade software; apply patches on the client system as needed.
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair end-user desktop / workstation / laptop computers, printers, keyboards, and related software and communication equipment, including phones / networks.
- Install, configure and manage Local Area Networks.
- Respond to customer technical inquiries over the phone and in-store.
- Perform other relevant duties as required from time to time.
- Support hybrid / cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Office 365, SharePoint).
- Monitor and report security incidents, enforce policies (passwords, MFA), and support compliance efforts.
- Assist in IT upgrades, system rollouts, or migration projects.
- Work with external IT providers to resolve complex issues or warranty claims.
- Provide first and second-level IT support to end users via phone, email, remote tools, and onsite visits.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
- Support and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights (e.g., Microsoft 365, Active Directory).
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and security patching.
- Assist with network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, solutions, and IT assets.
- Provide basic training and guidance to users on IT systems and applications.
- Support IT projects, upgrades, and system rollouts when required.
Skills and Experience required :
A Diploma or Degree qualification is required for this role2-3 Years of Work experience in a similar role can substitute the qualificationShould have Knowledge of micro soldering techniquesShould have Knowledge of Mobile Screen RepairA clean Full New Zealand driver's license, as sometimes, you may be required to drive on-site within the city for work. We will provide a company vehicle for this.Good communication skills are required to communicate over the phone and in person.Ability to work to a tight schedule, highly organised and ability to handle multiple jobs and display prioritisation skills.Possess motivational and leadership skills.Must not take Drugs & able to pass random tests when required.Team player with the ability to work competently under pressure.Must be able to work across any shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.A relevant IT qualification or certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft, ITIL) would be an advantage.Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
