Courier Driver

Job description

You will be responsible for the smooth and timely transportation of products, preparing customer delivery, collecting post / parcel, maintaining the warehouse and operational equipment including company vehicles, in a clean and tidy condition and maintaining relationships with Courier's diverse client base.You need to be flexible and able to work on a roster basis.

You will be mainly working from 5 : 00 am Monday to Saturday.

During the busy holidays (Christmas) or large extent of deliveries then able to work extended hours.

Work location : Wellington

Hours : 30 hours or 45 hours per week based on roster

Payrate : $25 to $27 per hour based on negotiations

Number of positions : 4x

Job Tasks

Deliveries – picking courier goods up from suppliers, delivering goods to customers
Delivering Parcels to Business and Residential
Ancillary duties, including loading and unloading of any goods
Assist with client queries
Complete all required delivery paperwork
Meet delivery timeframes
Carrying out minor maintenance tasks, if required
Ensuring the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy condition
Attending to daily checking of the vehicle including oil, water, fuel, air pressure, safety concerns and equipment security, Road User Charge Licence, Hub odometer readings etc
Reporting vehicle maintenance needs to Manager
Follow Health and Safety standards

Requirements :

Drivers license is required

Driver / freight / distribution environment work experience will be an advantage

Secondary School education required (12th class)

Hold Dangerous Goods endorsement

Holding Bachelor's degree is an advantage

Available to work outside your usual hours when required?

(e.g. weekends, early mornings)

Willing to do split shifts

A high degree of physical fitness and ability to lift up to 32 kilograms

Couriers are an essential service during the COVID-19, so the applicant must be prepared to work during any lockdown levels.

And be prepared to comply with the guidelines provided by Ministry of Health for safety to everyone.

Undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as a pre-requisite to obtaining employment.

Have a clear criminal record - Police Check for employment
