Job Summary
Ensures baked goods are prepared and displayed in accordance with Company standards; oversees bakery personnel; and promotes department sales and profits, as well as customer service.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Carry out management responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, developing partners; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining partners; scheduling, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.Review historical data to predict future sales from ads and promotions. Manage inventory to ensure in-stock levels. Review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; provide summaries to upper management.Check inventory on trucks, unload products, and ensure inventory accuracy and paperwork.Be accountable for bakery sales, labor, and meeting financial objectives.Enforce quality control and food safety standards; ensure dated products are rotated. Judge aroma, flavor, texture, and color to inspect baked goods for quality.Plan and determine work priorities for self and team based on tasks and forecasts.Assist with bakery production including preparing, packaging, labeling, catering, and occasional delivery of baked goods.Decorate baked goods and merchandise displays to promote themes.Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment per company procedures.Provide friendly, customer-service-oriented service by greeting customers and assisting with questions or orders.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Advanced knowledge of bakery department operations.Advanced knowledge of scheduling software and inventory management.Ability to lead and motivate others; strong written and verbal communication.Ability to learn new systems and processes; operate digital equipment and scales safely.Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.Ability to recognize hazards and take appropriate action; report hazards as needed.Education, Experience And Qualifications
High school Diploma or GED and two+ years related experience, or equivalent combination.Minimum of 18 years of age; Partners must be 21+ to drive for company business per policy.Food Handler certification; Manager Food Safety certification.Physical Demands
Continuously required to use vision and stand / walk; use hands for reaching and handling; communicate verbally.Frequently required to bend, kneel, squat, or stoop; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs and push / pull objects.Work Context And Environment
