This is a face to face teaching role, so the candidate will need to live locally.

Job description
Green School New Zealand is a growing, small K-12 school (years 1-13 in New Zealand) which serves both a local and international student population in Taranaki, on the North Island of New Zealand.
The school began 5 years ago and continues to grow and evolve each year.
The school is looking for a motivated Science teacher who thrives working with eager learners, committed families and a collaborative teaching faculty.
This teacher will perform multiple duties related to supporting and promoting the academic, social, and emotional development of all school students.
The teacher is responsible for designing impactful courses and lessons based upon the GSNZ standards, assessing student progress toward learning goals, maintaining a positive learning environment, actively participating in the learning neighbourhoods, and sharing in the duties of daily school operations.
Key areas of responsibility
Design and implement creative, proficiency-based units of learning that align with the Green School learning principles : REAL (Relationship-centered & holistic, Experiential and evolving, Authentic and interconnected, Local to global)
Ensure learning designs provide individualised and differentiated support as needed, mentoring and guiding all students toward their goals
Design or identify assessments to gauge student learning toward learning goals for each cohort / class
Report student progress as required each term
Work within the Learning Neighbourhoods and with the Learning Needs team to support the academic, social and emotional needs of all students.

Job Requirements
Essential aptitudes for this job include : adaptability, creativity, integrity, optimism / positive attitude, cultural sensitivity, and reliability.
This is a part-time position that requires an action-oriented person with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
In addition, candidates should have :
Strong experience with curriculum design in Middle or High School Science
Effective track record in designing instructional practices that match the needs / potential of varied learners
Basic to advanced understanding of environmental sustainability issues & a passion for integrating / applying these concepts in solving problems in the natural world
Experience designing and writing courses
Teach and work in a way that inspires colleagues and learners
Have training and experience in project / problem-based learning
Specific skill requirements
Speak, write, and communicate effectively in English
Hold at least a bachelor's degree in education
Have previous experience in teaching middle or high school science
Have or work toward a full New Zealand teaching certificate
Must be registered with the Teaching Council of New Zealand and hold a current practising certificate
