We are seeking a head of the science learning area (HOLA) at Hutt Valley High School, commencing in term 1, 2026. Science is a large department consisting of 18-20 teachers.

Applicants should have experience across all levels and possess a deep understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, NCEA achievement standards, and current changes, as well as a strong passion for their subject.

The HOLA is responsible for ensuring quality teaching and learning, managing curriculum and assessment, overseeing personnel management and appraisal, managing departmental finances and resources, and performing other associated roles.
