Are you a passionate and dynamic leader ready to shape the use of Rotorua's parks, open spaces, and recreation facilities?
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead a dedicated team that is responsible for activating and enhancing our city's play, active recreation and sport spaces, ensuring they are vibrant, accessible, and welcoming for both locals and visitors.
You'll play a key role in building and nurturing partnerships with sporting organisations, event managers, RotoruaNZ, landowners, operational service providers and other stakeholders that increase community and visitor activity in our district to deliver memorable experiences.
This will include understanding the needs of our community, the standards of Council and supporting events that activate our district.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring a postgraduate qualification in sports, management, business development, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years' experience in a leadership position.
Your background will include a strong track record in facility activation, event support , and stakeholder engagement.
Experience in contract management, major event coordination, and securing community funding will be highly regarded.
We're looking for a results-driven self-starter with exceptional communication skills, a strategic mindset, and proven project management capabilities.
A solid understanding of Health & Safety and contractor management is essential.
