About the role
Hands‑on, you will help maintain heritage sites and visitor infrastructure, including work on the iconic Ulva Island / Te Wharawhara, while guiding and inspiring field teams to achieve great results for nature and visitors alike.
The role will involve living and working in the backcountry up to a week at a time, often accessed by helicopter, boat or foot.
Living on Rakiura
Private accommodation is limited; staff accommodation is available in a shared house. Pets are not permitted.

The salary range for this position is $65,070–$75,981, with the starting salary based on the successful applicant’s relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa covering the entire period of employment.
