People and Development Manager at Quigg Partners | Mum of 2

Are you an experienced accounting professional with a background in law firm finance and trust accounting? This is a unique opportunity to step into a key leadership role and truly make it your own.

This role is to oversee the financial management, trust accounting, compliance, and administration of our firm. It is central to the smooth running of our practice and offers the chance to review, refine, and refresh existing processes, with strong support from the partners.

What you’ll be doing

  • Overseeing all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, payroll, tax compliance, and cashflow management.
  • Managing trust accounting, settlements, and compliance with NZ Law Society requirements.
  • Coordinating with EY on annual accounts and partner tax matters.
  • Leading insurance, IT, and general practice management functions.
  • Supporting and supervising administration staff as required.
  • Driving improvements to systems and processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in a law firm environment (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of trust accounting, NZ tax obligations (GST, PAYE, provisional tax), and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with practice management systems (Infinitylaw experience ideal).
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent organisational skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to modernise and streamline existing processes.
