About the Role

Step into the role of Principal Project Manager in our Auckland-based Water team, where you’ll champion the delivery of high-impact projects from initial concept through to successful client handover. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee every project phase, and help us deliver solutions that benefit communities across New Zealand.

As a key leader in our national team, you will :

  • Build and nurture strong client relationships with major water utilities, contractors, and public sector partners
  • Deliver tailored, high-value solutions that exceed expectations and drive repeat business
  • Mentor, inspire, and upskill team members while encouraging innovation and efficiency
  • Coordinate with professionals across disciplines and offices, contributing to WSP’s reputation for quality
  • Manage budgets, proactively assess risks, and ensure all project deliverables meet WSP and client standards
  • Prepare accurate scopes and cost estimates, supporting the financial success of our projects
  • Lead business development efforts by preparing compelling proposals and tenders, and expanding our service offerings in the water sector

About You

  • 10+ years leading complex projects and consistently meeting delivery goals
  • Professional membership, such as Project Management Institute (PMI), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), or equivalent overseas recognition
  • Project management qualifications (PMP or equivalent)
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools
  • Demonstrated strengths in stakeholder engagement, risk management, planning, scheduling, and commercial management
