About our teamThe Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health (Dunedin) is one of three departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Otago's Medical School, working alongside our counterparts in Christchurch and Wellington.

We are committed to excellence in teaching and research in an environment that fosters personal development and respect and stimulates advances in knowledge and the provision of outstanding health care of women, youth and their families / whanau.The roleIn this Dunedin based role, we are seeking a qualified healthcare professional who would support the Obstetrics & Gynecology undergraduate teaching team at the Faculty of Medicine – Dunedin, with a focus on facilitating learning for 5th year medical students and final year medical students.Ka pukeka me ka wheako | Skills and experienceA healthcare professional qualification.Experience in women's health.Aptitude for effective teaching at tertiary level.Must be able to take initiative and work independently but being always mindful of goals of the Department.Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work positively and productively with obstetrics and gynaecology patients and their whanau.Be culturally competent and have an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and a commitment to equity within medical education and the wider health system.Evidence of an ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds at all levels of the institution.Puroko | Further detailsThis is a part-time (0.2 FTE), permanent position based in Otepoti, Dunedin.The successful candidate will be appointed to an appropriate step on the Senior Teaching Fellow scale based on qualifications, skills and experience.The University of Otago is a workplace that values and utilises diverse and inclusive thinking, people and behaviours.
