The Role

You’ll join an established electrical team within a wider building services environment, playing a pivotal role in designing and delivering electrical systems for medium to large scale developments. Your scope will include concept design, detailed documentation, client presentations, and on‑site coordination through to project handover. Projects span commercial buildings, education facilities, hospitals, and high‑spec retirement villages each offering technical depth and stakeholder engagement.

Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers and working closely with in‑house mechanical, hydraulic, and fire teams to deliver fully integrated building solutions.

About You

You’re an experienced Electrical Engineer who thrives in a consultancy environment and enjoys balancing design work with client‑facing delivery. You’re confident across power systems, lighting design, and integrated services, and enjoy working closely with architects and project managers.

You will have :

  • A BE (Electrical) or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3+ years of local consultancy experience in building services
  • Proven ability to run projects from concept to construction
  • Familiarity with AS / NZS standards and New Zealand building codes
  • Working knowledge of Revit, Dialux, and power / load calculation tools
  • Clear communication and documentation skills

Experience with ICT design is a strong bonus

Chartered status (or working toward it) is highly regarded.
