OverviewPolicy Analyst (International Fisheries) - Permanent, full-timeLocation : Wellington CitySalary Range : General Salary Range F : $76,463 to $89,215 depending on skills and experienceResponsibilitiesCoordinate New Zealand's regular bilateral fisheries dialogues with key countries, engaging on shared priorities and approaches to international fisheries issues and domestic management.Support New Zealand's Commissioner to the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation.Be involved in a wide range of international fisheries work, including NZ's participation in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Oceans and Fisheries Working Group.Collaborate with MPI teams and other agencies (e.g., MFAT, Department of Conservation) to navigate the interface between foreign policy, international law, fisheries policy and management, compliance, conservation and science.About YouThis role requires working across foreign policy, international law, fisheries policy and management, compliance, conservation and science.
An understanding of fisheries management and compliance, and relevant international law and institutions (including UNCLOS) is desirable.
