Due to new business growth and reporting into the National Operations Manager, the purpose of the Operations Manager is to professionally manage and optimize the long-distance transportation of goods, ensuring efficient and timely delivery based at our Highbrook site. This is an important key role within the business requiring an experienced and knowledgeable logistics person.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating nationwide deliveries, allocating jobs to drivers, and monitoring vehicle movements.
• Managing and mentoring Supervisors, providing guidance and ensuring they effectively manage their teams.
• Ensuring strict adherence to transport regulations, driver’s hours, and health and safety standards, including accident and incident reporting.
• Maintaining effective communication with customers, addressing their needs, and building strong relationships.
• Monitoring fleet movements, ensuring vehicles are fit for purpose, and identifying opportunities for fleet optimization.
• Managing the linehaul budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and minimizing unnecessary expenses.Identifying opportunities to enhance efficiencies within the linehaul network and implementing innovative solutions.
