We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Advisor to deliver a vibrant, strategic communications programme that connects our community and enhances the College’s reputation regionally, nationally, and internationally. Queen Margaret College (QMC) is Wellington’s leading independent school for young women, providing a world class education for girls from Year 1-13, a boarding facility onsite and a co-educational Preschool. Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute a dynamic communications programme across multiple channels.
  • Create compelling content for newsletters, publications, social media, and the College website.
  • Coordinate key school wide messages and support crisis communications when required.
  • Manage editorial planning for flagship publications such as QM Calling and the Te Karere Yearbook.
  • Capture and produce engaging photography and video content to showcase College life.
  • Support and deliver events that strengthen community engagement, including Open Days and school productions.

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a communications or marketing role, ideally in education or community focused sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a flair for storytelling.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, with confidence managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience creating content across digital and print platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience and confidence working across a variety of software, media platforms and handling data sets.
  • A proactive team player with sound judgement and discretion.
