About the Role

As Treasurer, you will play a key role in the financial oversight and sustainability of our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to contribute their skills to a meaningful cause. Note : It would be helpful to include a link to your SEEK or LinkedIn profile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial management and operations of the organisation, including payroll, expense claims and Xero reconciliation
  • Coordinate and work with our Treasury admin support team member (another volunteer)
  • Financial reporting - prepare budgets and financial statements on a quarterly basis
  • Present financial reports at Board meetings (held monthly)
  • Support the development of funding applications, accountability and financial planning
  • Create and maintain protocols and processes for financial accountability
  • Ensure compliance with financial and charitable regulations
  • Provide support to auditors for our annual audit (around July)

Were Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field preferred
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or a similar field
  • Familiarity with financial software (e.g., Xero or similar)
  • A good understanding of financial governance, reporting and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and integrity
  • Previous board or management experience (preferred but not essential)
