Healthcare Assistant – Kandahar Home

We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to work day shifts 7am to 3.30pm (32 hours per week) at Kandahar Home, Masterton.

You will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements, encouraging independence, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every resident.

Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves.

Assist and support daily living activities in line with Eden principles and Domains of Wellbeing.

Work under the supervision and direction of the RN.

Ensure residents' needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in aged care or other healthcare assistant / support worker role – preferred but not essential.

Willingness to gain qualifications while you work.

Good verbal communication and documentation skills.

Basic computer skills.

Active member of a team environment, enthusiastic, patient, and well organised with great interpersonal skills.
