We're looking for experienced Rigger / Dogmen to support crane lifts, transport and installation on large wind farms.
These roles will be based at various windfarm locations around New Zealand that include KAIWERA DOWNS - Gore, KAIWAIKAWE - Dargaville and various other locations.About UsSmith Crane and Construction is a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience, offering exceptional service across crane hire, civil construction (including marine civil and pre-cast manufacturing), transportation, and wind energy installation and maintenance.
We pride ourselves on our strong team culture, commitment to safety, and continuing our family tradition of excellent customer focus and job execution.ResponsibilitiesSafely use tools and equipment (EWP, Forklift, telehandler)Rigging & slinging loads safely, following lift & rigging plansCommunicate clearly with crane operators & site teamsInspect, maintain & report on lifting gear and rigging equipmentWork outdoors in variable weather & flexible hoursInstalling and unloading wind turbine components up to 100 tonMove cranes and equipment on siteWhat we're afterRigging certificates preferredQualified to operate EWP, Telehandler, Forklift or a willingness to learn2+ years' rigging experience, ideally on wind farms or cranesClear communicator & strong safety mindsetPhysically fit and reliableWhat we offerPay rate : $28-$40 per hour1 year fixed term contractMinimum guaranteed : 40 hours per weekSouthland, Northland and various locationsBe part of a supportive, safety-focused teamOn the job trainingPlease note successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a pre-employment medical.You must also have the right to legally live and work in New Zealand to be considered for this position.Applications will be assessed as they are received.Application QuestionsHow many years' experience do you have as a Dogperson?
