We are looking for a full-time Commis Chef to join our team based in Lake Tekapo.
This is a permanent role with minimum 30 hours per week.The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in delivering high-quality dishes in accordance with the hotel's standards.
This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and ensuring that all food is prepared safely and efficiently.
Your day-to-day work includes but not limited to :
Assist chefs in preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items according to recipes and standards.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Ensure food is stored, handled, and prepared safely in compliance with food safety regulations.
Assist with stock rotation and report any shortages to senior chefs.
Follow instructions from the Head Chef or Sous Chef to ensure efficient service.
Support in receiving and checking deliveries and maintaining appropriate storage.
Contribute to maintaining a positive, professional, and safe working environment.
Take part in training and development opportunities as required.
Uphold the company's standards of presentation, punctuality, and teamwork.
You will need to demonstrate at least 1-year relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment, with excellent communication skill and being a team player.
