Āu ake mahi | What you'll do

We’re looking for an energetic, people-focused Fitness Consultant to join our Club Active team, working across both our Club Active sites in Kilbirnie (at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre) and Freyberg.

As a Fitness Consultant, you’ll be the spark that inspires and supports the Pōneke community on their health journey. From welcoming new members and getting them started, to designing and delivering tailored programmes, no two days are the same – and every day is rewarding.

You will also be responsible for :

  • Ensuring the facilities are maintained to the specified standard. This includes but is not limited to cleaning machines and vacuuming the site
  • Providing expert guidance to members, while being encouraging and educating and connecting
  • Providing effective customer care to all members while visiting our facilities

This is a permanent part-time role for 24 hours per week across two weekdays and one weekend shift.

The starting rate for this role is $29.50 per hour.

We’re after someone who thrives on connecting with people – a true team player who brings energy, positivity, and a passion for health and fitness. You’ll be confident communicating with people from all walks of life, making every interaction welcoming and supportive. Experience in the fitness industry is a bonus, but what really matters is your drive to inspire and motivate others. Ideally, you’ll already hold – or be working towards – a Level 3 (or higher) fitness qualification.
