Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Re-Generate has offices in Christchurch and New Plymouth and employs 40 staff. We are a specialist energy and water solutions business with commercial activities spanning; consulting, design, supply, specialist services and contracting.

The company has core operations within the hydro-generation industry but also applies specialist skills and services to a widely varying range of industries including Wind Generation, Oil and Gas, Heavy Industrial and Mining. We are currently seeking an experienced Engineer to work on a variety of projects for a range of blue-chip clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Candidates must have a mechanical engineering degree with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a relevant industry. Candidates will have broad exposure to a range of analysis or design skills combined with strong project management capabilities.

You will be both an analytical and practical person, able to identify, quantify and optimise solutions to problems from base principles, as well as being able to validate the improvements after site installation.

We are looking for an autonomous person who enjoys working in a team environment. You will also have a high degree of commercial nous and be able to interact with your team members as well as our customers on both technical and commercial issues.

Candidate to provide examples of first-hand experience of drive to get tasks done in challenging circumstances, both with regard to technical, budgetary and organisational obstacles.

The types of activities we envisage for this particular role will include :

• Design Engineering including Analysis, CAD and 3D Modelling (Solidworks)
• Asset Optimisation and efficiency gains on aging plant through implementation of tailor-made solutions.
• Use of software packages such as AutoPIPE, PV Elite, ANSYS and PULS.
• Project Scoping and Planning.
• Specification and procurement of equipment.
• Site Visits including participating in specialist services such as 3D Scanning, Laser Surveys, Positive Material Identification and Vibration Analysis.
• Other unique Mechanical skillsets to be presented.
