Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.
We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations - from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.
Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.
About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the development and provision of high-quality performance information on behalf of the People & Communications team. This includes contributing to accountability documents and ensuring robust, consistent performance reporting that supports effective decision‑making and organisational oversight.
In addition, the role is responsible for designing and developing the systems, methodologies, tools, and guidance needed to translate policy and strategy into practical, operational delivery. This work ensures that strategic intent is clearly reflected in day‑to‑day processes, enabling the team to operate efficiently and in alignment with organisational priorities.
About you
You bring at least two years' experience producing management reporting, accountability documents, or other strategic communications. You're confident applying critical thinking and sound judgement to develop options, provide advice, and translate insights into meaningful action.
You're proficient with key reporting tools such as Excel, Word, and Power BI (or similar applications), and you have a solid understanding of the Machinery of Government, including annual reporting cycles and associated products. Your advanced oral and written communication skills allow you to tailor information for a range of audiences, producing high‑quality documentation that is clear, articulate, and succinct for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
