Role Occupational Therapist, Te Puna Waiora Mental Health Inpatient UnitAre you passionate about supporting people on their mental health recovery journey?

Join our multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and rewarding inpatient environment where your skills and compassion can make a lasting impactHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleYou will work collaboratively with inpatients, family / whanau and the clinical team to promote engagement in meaningful activities that support recovery, independence and wellbeing.Conduct assessments focusing on functional abilities, cognitive skills and psychosocial needs.Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focussed on life skills, coping strategies, and community reintegration.Contribute to quality improvement projects.Please click here to view the position descriptionAbout the Team / Service / LocationWe are a tight knit inpatient team within the Mental Health and Addictions team based in New Plymouth.For more information on living and working in Taranaki click hereAbout youAs an Occupational Therapist you will possessDegree qualification in Occupational TherapyCurrent registrationExperience or a strong interest in mental health (inpatient experience is desirable)Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentCommitted to trauma-informed, recovery orientated and culturally safe careWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
