This role plays a key part in growing awareness of and engagement with our research and heritage collections, helping Aucklanders see themselves reflected in our shared stories.
By developing intentional partnerships and impactful public programming, you'll contribute to Auckland Council's vision of building strong, connected communities that value te ao Maori and our collective heritage.
Nga kawenga matua : Key responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation and delivery of public programmes and activities that highlight research and heritage collections.
Apply audience insights and segmentation to shape inclusive, appealing, and impactful programming.
Build and sustain partnerships with community groups, GLAM colleagues, and external and internal stakeholders.
Develop programming plans, performance measures and reporting systems to monitor impact and guide improvement.
Use audience research to evaluate programmes and strengthen future storytelling and engagement.
Support Auckland Council's commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi by embedding te ao Maori values and practices into programming.
You're an experienced public programming lead or engagement specialist who can take programmes from concept to delivery, evaluate their impact, and apply insights to enhance future offerings.
You have a passion for connecting people through culture, heritage, and ideas.
With strong communication and project management skills, you can turn strategic goals into creative, audience-centred experiences.
You thrive on collaboration, enjoy building partnerships, and bring curiosity and respect for the diversity of Tamaki Makaurau's communities.
Experience in the GLAM sector and a grounding in te ao Maori or willingness to learn will set you apart.
