Senior Business Analyst - Fixed Term to Sep 2026
Position : Senior Business Analyst at Datacom. Location : Anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. Security requirements : Citizens or Residents of AU / NZ only. Full-time fixed-term (to September 2026, potentially beyond).
Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to help them innovate and grow using technology. The role is part of our IT Service Delivery transformation, focusing on AI‑enabled processes.
What You'll Do
- Work alongside Process Owners to optimise their processes.
- Document and manage business requirements, leading reviews with subject matter experts until formal sign‑off.
- Identify critical success measures and ensure traceable data.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads to design functional and technical solutions aligned with business needs.
- Coordinate with Test Analysts, communicating scope changes, issues and risks.
- Resolve specification questions and ambiguities raised by developers and testers during development and testing.
Duties include :
Process Improvement : Analyse existing workflows, recommend solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.Requirements Gathering : Conduct interviews, workshops and document analysis to capture business needs.Documentation : Prepare detailed business requirement documents, use cases, user stories and acceptance criteria.Stakeholder Management : Act as liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams and change agents.Testing & Validation : Develop test plans with testing teams and validate that solutions meet requirements.Training & Support : Assist in developing training material and support hyper‑care adoption.Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 7 years of business analysis experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role.Proven ability to navigate complex business contexts and deliver objectives.Experience mapping processes using BPMN2.0, Value‑Chain diagrams, Customer Journey maps, SIPOC and RACI tables; BIC Process Design knowledge a plus.Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira and Confluence.IT Service Delivery experience is advantageous.Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, translating complex business requirements into technical solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.Experience with Agile and Scrum working methods.Self‑driven yet effective in team environments and under pressure.Benefits & Culture
