Start date : 15 October 2025

Days & hours :

Wednesdays 9 : 15am - 12 : 45pm, 3.5 hours only. This is a permanent position, during school term time only.

The candidate must have :

  • The Playcentre C3 qualification or the New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care L4 or a higher ECE qualification or a Primary Teaching qualification with the Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award, for licensing purposes.
  • A current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.

Desirable skills and experience will include :

  • A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy;
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whariki and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
  • Great time management and strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience at centre level communicating with both tamariki and adults;
  • An ability to support and empower parents, whanau, and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.
  • A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required;
  • Confidence when speaking within a group.
  • A passion for supporting Te Reo Māori and tikanga and engaging all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.

    • Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
