Family Worker-Counsellor

Our South Auckland based service is seeking a part‑time talented and experienced Counsellor with some Social Work background as well to join their team. This exciting role will see you engage with children and their families and work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives.

This is a part‑time fixed term contract until June 2026 (30 hours per week)

• A qualified Counsellor registered with NZAC
• Familiar with strength‑based practice principles
• Competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse
• Able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
• A person who thrives in a busy multi‑disciplinary team
• Show exemplary professional practice
• Have experience in, and can evidence effectively, working with Maori families
• Have outstanding communication and people skills
• Have excellent family support, assessment and counselling abilities.
