Job Description :
Key responsibilities and tasks :
Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the recipes and standards of Kitchen.Handle high quality ingredients with the best culinary knowledge in preparation and cooking.Engaging in the creation and development of new dishes and menus.Coordinate with other Chef to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes.Managing and training any kitchen assistant working with you.Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the section during service times.Maintain clear communication to ensure a smooth workflow, a positive work environment, and effective solutions to any issues or challenges.Quality and Hygiene Control.Keep your work areas, equipment, and the kitchen consistently organized, sanitized, and spotless.Uphold the best endeavour during your work hour.Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.To be successful in this role, you will need to have :
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced environment; ORA relevant qualification in Culinary Arts or Cookery of NZQA level 4 or above;A can-do attitude and flexibility as you will be required to work on the weekends, public holidays and late hours;Excellent time management skills;Ability to remain calm with leadership and undertake various tasks;Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques, food products and recipes;Familiarity with sanitation regulations;Applicants for this position should have New Zealand residency or the legal rights to work in New Zealand.
