Arohanui Kindergarten is the early childhood centre attached to the teen parent unit situated at Waiopehu College, Levin, which caters for young parents in the Horowhenua, Shannon, Foxton and Otaki areas. The whole service is called He Whare Manaaki Tangata, a purpose-built structure, that opened at the beginning of term 1 2014.
Our team has sound understanding of best practice, particularly working with children under the age of two years and deliver a whānau-based approach (where older and younger tamariki learn alongside each other). We also have a commitment to working alongside young parents and their whānau and work collaboratively with the teachers attached to He Whare Manaaki Tangata and Waiopehu College.
We are licensed for 31 children, with 15 being under 2, who attend for 6.5 hours each day. You will join our team of 5 other teachers.
As 0.8 part-time teacher your total hours of work will be 32 hours per week, worked as follows :
Tuesday to Friday : 8am–4.30pm.
