Trainee Electrical Fitter

What does an Electrical Fitter in our industry do?

Working in our Substation Services Team, you will provide repairs, maintenance, and construction services to our network assets of 11kv and 33kv. You will learn to use various instrumentation and diagnostic equipment and technology, and respond to and repair faults within our network, keeping the lights on across the Waikato.

We are looking for someone with the attitude and drive to join us in early

• and learn from our highly skilled team, to become a fully registered Electrical Fitter. Once registered you will continue working closely with the team while gaining your level 4 high voltage switching qualification. This is a 5-year fixed term role.

Skills and experience

• A strong commitment to ensuring the Health & Safety of yourself, your team and the public who use our network
• A minimum of NCEA Level 3 Maths and / or Physics
• Some level of workplace experience
• The drive and motivation to advance your career in the industry - at WEL in particular!
