Role overview
As Environment and Compliance Manager, you'll provide strategic leadership in environmental compliance, ensuring the programme meets all regulatory, contractual, and internal obligations.
This role is central to supporting the business's consenting functions—enabling efficient, consistent, and high-quality delivery of approvals that help keep construction moving.
You'll work alongside a team of world-class engineers, helping build capability in tunnelling-related approvals and streamlining processes.
Over time, this means faster approvals, reduced costs, and better outcomes for the programme.
Key Responsibilities
Leading environmental compliance strategy across the Tunnels and Underground Programme.
Supporting the business's consenting functions by ensuring the compliance function supports timely, high-quality delivery of resource consents.
Building capability in tunnelling-related approvals, enabling continuous improvement in application quality and efficiency.
Overseeing other critical approvals such as Third Party Agreements, Building Consents, Engineering Plan and Works Over Approvals.
Ensuring consistency and care across all approval processes within the programme.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Your Background Will Include
A tertiary professional qualification in science, resource management, statutory planning or equivalent and 10 plus years work experience in a relevant field including the tunnelling industry.
Experience working across multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
