Position : Store Person – Full Time (Minimum 30 hours per week)

Location : Greymouth, New Zealand

Pay Range : $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Working Hours : 6 : 00 AM to 10 : 00 PM, Monday to Sunday (Rostered shifts)

About the Role

VNS Transport Limited is seeking a reliable and hardworking Store Person for their busy dairy shop in Greymouth. This full-time position involves managing daily store operations, stock handling, and ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the dairy.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with dairy or retail store experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving incoming dairy and grocery goods, checking for damages, expiry dates, and discrepancies between goods and invoices.
Unloading delivery vehicles, opening packages, and managing stock appropriately.
Using computer systems to locate stock, check quantities, and monitor store inventory levels.
Labelling and organising goods with accurate storage location details.
Packing and weighing goods, sealing cartons, and ensuring appropriate product rotation (FIFO).
Operating lifting equipment and store machinery to place and remove goods from high shelves.
Using manual and electronic order pickers to assemble stock for display and replenishment, following daily picking lists.
Assisting with regular stocktakes and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Using materials handling equipment such as pallet lifters and hand trucks to move products throughout the dairy.
Ensuring dairy shelves are fully stocked, clean, and well-presented at all times.
Occasionally travelling to the employer’s Nelson store to provide backup support or to deliver items as required.
Supporting general store operations, including customer service when required.

Requirements

New Zealand Register Level 2 Qualification (or Equivalent General) or a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a retail, dairy, or warehouse environment.

Must hold a valid New Zealand full or restricted driving licence.

Ability to lift heavy items and operate store machinery safely.

Basic computer knowledge for stock management.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
