Healthcare Assistant
Medforce are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicatedHealthcare Assistantto join our team in Wexford. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to patients, assisting nursing and medical staff in delivering person-centred care in a safe, respectful, and professional manner.
This is an agency role and salary will match HSE Scale for August 2025
Responsibilities of Healthcare Assistant
- Assist patients with personal care needs including washing, dressing, mobility, eating, and toileting.
- Support nursing staff in monitoring patients’ condition — including temperature, pulse, respiration, and fluid intake / output.
- Maintain patient dignity, comfort, and privacy at all times.
- Support the safe moving and handling of patients using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Observe and report any changes in patients’ conditions to the nurse in charge.
- Help with serving meals and assisting patients who require help with feeding.
- Record information accurately in patient charts and reports.
- Participate in infection prevention and control practices.
- Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to promote patient wellbeing and recovery.
Requirements of Healthcare Assistant
QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support (or equivalent recognised healthcare qualification).Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a hospital, nursing home, or similar healthcare environment would be desirable.Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts as required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
