Payroll affects everyone across Silver Fern Farms. Our Payroll Specialist team is dedicated to ensuring payroll is delivered on time through compliant, accurate systems that are always evolving to better support our people.

Job Description

Reporting to the National Payroll Lead, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing salary pay runs and associated payroll processes, while also supporting waged payroll delivery across our site and corporate employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely salary pay runs and ad-hoc remuneration changes
  • Provide day-to-day support to site-based Payroll staff and other system users
  • Support system administration, upgrades, and user access across PayGlobal and other tools
  • Deliver audit, reporting, and accounting tasks including reconciliations and compliance returns
  • Provide project support for payroll and HRIS development and improvement initiatives
  • Act as first point of contact for payroll queries and deliver outstanding customer service

About You

You are a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance and providing excellent service to employees and colleagues. With a strong understanding of payroll processes and legislation, you’re confident navigating systems, solving problems and supporting others.

You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in payroll processing and system administration (PayGlobal experience an advantage)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements, including the Holidays Act
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence using HRIS and payroll systems
  • Sound understanding of accounting, reporting and reconciliations
