JS Ewers operates one of the most sophisticated growing operations in the country, with 14 hectares of glasshouse, 250 hectares of outdoor land, and a five-hectare undercover berryfruit operation, producing fresh produce 365 days of the year.

The Finance Manager provides operational and strategic leadership across the finance function of JS Ewers Limited. They are responsible for leading and co-ordinating the business’s planning and reporting processes at operational and board level.

Being focussed on timely and accurate reporting of activity across the business the Finance Manager will work closely with management to collaboratively identify opportunities to increase profitability through improved productivity and efficiency of systems and processes, financial savings through procurement, and robust reporting of profitability by product. In addition, they will ensure assets are well managed and accounted for.

This is a critical, visible role with a strong leadership and people focus. It will provide a genuinely unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to drive positive change in a large scale farming operation.

Responsibilities and Requirements

The successful candidate will have :

• Financial Planning & Analysis : Develop budgets, financial forecasts, revenue projections, and financial plans to achieve short and medium-term business goals.
• Reporting : Produce accurate and timely financial and management accounts, reports, and business plans.
• Cash Flow Management : Oversee and manage the organization's cash flow and accounts.
• Risk Management : Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
• Team Leadership : Supervise and coach finance department staff, including accountants, to ensure effective performance.
• Strategic Guidance : Provide financial advice and insights to senior managers, stakeholders, and business unit leaders to support decision-making.
• Operational Oversight : Monitor ongoing financial operations, such as payroll and invoicing, to ensure targets are met.
• Compliance : Ensure all financial policies, procedures, and legal requirements are followed correctly.
• Process Improvement : Identify areas for improvement within financial processes and systems, often leveraging ERP familiarity.
