About the Role

The Ultrasound service at Waikato Hospital consists of 8 high-end machines and provides general ultrasound imaging to inpatient, outpatient and obstetric services within a tertiary hospital. We service a large catchment area and are exposed to diverse pathologies and interesting cases. Day to day, you will provide comprehensive imaging in trauma, inpatient and outpatient settings and work in collaboration with other health professionals and multidisciplinary teams.

About you

• Use independent judgment during the ultrasound study to acquire and assess information obtained
• Coordinate bookings and scheduling of workload
• Assume responsibility for patient safety while in the sonographer's care
• Assist in maintaining equipment and work area and maintain adequate supplies
• Registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologist Board
• Current practising certificate within the general scope of practice
• DMU or equivalent postgraduate recognised sonography qualification
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong professional judgement
