Join our Digital Engineering team as a
Lead Front-End Engineer
, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital customer experiences. You’ll lead up to two squads, balancing hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities. This includes driving experimentation, designing and delivering resilient software, mentoring engineers, and championing continuous improvement.You’ll collaborate with Engineers, Designers, Architects, Principal Engineers, and stakeholders to :
Deliver outstanding user-centred digital experiences through innovation and bold experimentation
Align solutions with modern engineering best practices
Support the technical roadmap and business goals and influence future direction for front-end architecture
Minimise technical debt and surface blockers early
Foster a positive, inclusive, and forward-thinking team cultureThis role is approximately 50% hands-on engineering and 50% team enablement, with flexibility based on squad needs.To succeed in this role, you’ll need :
Proficiency in modern software development practices and tools, with a focus on experimentation and innovation
Experience with CI / CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and debugging complex systems
Ability to break down complex problems into practical, future-ready solutions
Strong decision-making and judgement, balancing technical depth with strategic vision
Confidence, resilience, and accountability when leading teams and influencing outcomes
A customer-centric approach combined with operational excellence
The ability to translate vision into action
A mindset of “strong opinions, held loosely”, embracing feedback and continuous learningYou’ll also be a mentor and role model—supporting the growth of your peers, promoting a culture of automation, and contributing to a psychologically safe and inclusive team environment.
