Responsibilities
Provide professional leadership within the Christian Education Department.
Teach Christian Education across Years 8–13.
Maintain and promote high standards of teaching and learning.
Support the Head of Department with curriculum strategy, including reviewing programmes, units of work, analysing achievement data.
Collaborate with curriculum leaders and teachers to advance school-wide strategic goals.
Promote the subject, encouraging engagement and supporting strong academic progress.
Qualifications and Experience
New Zealand registered teacher with a current practising certificate.
Relevant teaching degree (or equivalent qualification / experience).
Experience teaching Christian Education or Religious Education at secondary school level.
A qualification in Theology or Biblical Studies (preferred).
Strong knowledge of current teaching methodologies and assessment practices.
Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with young people, colleagues, and the wider community.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Positive, collaborative team member with enthusiasm and commitment.
Willingness to uphold and model the special character and values of Saint Kentigern.
Commitment to contributing to the College's co-curricular life.
A strong understanding of health, safety, safeguarding, and child protection, with a commitment to best practice.
