This is a hands‑on accounting role supporting the core finance operations of a growing investment management firm. You’ll be responsible for month‑end and year‑end processes, preparing financial statements, managing the general ledger, and assisting with tax and audit requirements. The role also includes Xero processing, reconciliations, accounts payable, and general administrative support.
It’s a varied position ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure, and contributing to a high‑performing, collaborative team.
The Opportunity
- Process invoices, manage payments to suppliers, reconcile accounts payable transactions, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain financial records, reconcile accounts, and support compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Handle core accounting functions, including month‑end close, general ledger management, and tax filings with a particular focus on investment and equity‑related transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities in financial records.
- Ensure all processes are completed within agreed timeframes and that audit requirements are met.
- Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, including processing adjustments and maintaining the integrity of financial data and internal controls.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy, compliance with internal policies, and adherence to external regulations.
- Complete Xero entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Assist with general office administration, filing, and other ad hoc tasks as required.
About You
2–5 years of experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role (preferably within corporate environments).A relevant qualification (or working towards it).Supporting the Senior Accountant and wider finance team.Strong working knowledge of month‑end and year‑end processes, financial reporting, and general ledger management.Experience with Xero is essential.Proven ability to analyse financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues accurately.Familiarity with tax compliance, audit processes, and internal controls.Experience handling accounts payable and general accounting administration.Exposure to investment or equity‑related transactions is advantageous but not essential.Why Join Chance Voight?
