About the Company
New Era Group Ltd is a well-established manufacturer specialising in aluminium louvres, windows, and doors. With expanding in-house production capacity, the company relies on CNC machining processes for the accurate fabrication of aluminium components used across its product range. We are now seeking skilled CNC Machine Operators to support our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Study engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines to cut, mill, drill, bore, or shape aluminium materials used for louvres, windows, and doors.
- Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and machine attachments appropriate to each job.
- Program or modify CNC machine settings as required to achieve accurate machining outcomes (within operator capability).
- Load aluminium profiles and stock into machines, ensuring correct alignment and secure fastening.
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain accuracy, surface finish, and dimensional compliance.
- Measure and inspect completed components using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Identify faults in machining processes, tooling, or materials and carry out corrective actions where appropriate.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain quality control standards and ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements.
Requirements
Minimum two years of relevant experience as a metal machinist or CNC machine operator in a manufacturing environment.Practical experience operating CNC machining equipment for metal fabrication, preferably aluminium.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and machining tolerances.Familiarity with machining tools, cutting techniques, and measuring instruments.Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.Good understanding of workshop safety procedures and safe machine operation.Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.Christchurch (base) with regular travel to AucklandThe successful candidates will be required to work in both our Auckland and Christchurch locations.Pay Rate
$27.00 – $32.00 per hour , depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
