Senior Data Scientist - Product, Features & Growth - Open to Remote across ANZ

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who can partner with Canva’s product, business, and operations teams to drive impact through data. This role is open to remote work across ANZ with Canva’s flexible working options.

Where and how you can work : Our flagship campus is in Sydney, with campuses in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. You have the choice in where and how you work — we trust Canvanauts to balance their work and goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

  • Partner with teams across Canva to influence strategic decisions through data.
  • Design and analyse A / B tests and other experiments that drive product and business outcomes.
  • Build data models, dashboards, and tooling that help teams scale insights.
  • Define and forecast key metrics to track progress and surface opportunities.
  • Communicate findings clearly to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Uplift the broader data community through mentorship, best practices, and collaboration.

You're probably a match if

  • You have a proven track record of using data to drive impact across products or business units.
  • You write complex SQL with ease and can work with large-scale datasets.
  • You think strategically, love solving ambiguous problems, and use data to simplify complexity.
  • You’re an excellent communicator and storyteller — able to translate data into compelling narratives.
  • You have experience with experimentation, event instrumentation, and data warehousing.
  • You’ve worked with tools like Python or R and bring a strong foundation in statistics or a STEM field.
  • You’re familiar with key tech metrics like product funnels and growth accounting.
  • You value data accuracy, integrity, and using your craft to enable better decisions.
