  • The purpose of this role is to provide technical co-design and expert technical knowledge to deliver solution architecture that meets business needs.NZTA Waka Kotahi is embarking on a new journey for the organisation and we require Senior Solution Architects across all disciplines to grow with us as an organisation.

Appointment base salary is from $131,659 to $160,916 depending on relevant knowledge and experience.

  • To be successful in this role, you will bring :
  • Solid experience in designing cloud data solutions that comply with New Zealand government mandates and adhere to industry best practices and with a specialization in complex data projects.
  • Proficiency in Azure data services and Microsoft analytics solutions is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lakehouse Medallion architecture and its application in modern data engineering and data management.
  • Proficient in contemporary data engineering and data management techniques.

    • solid experience in design of complex technology solutions and producing and presenting solution architecture designs and technical documentation to architecture governance bodies.

  • Solid experience interpreting business needs and translating these into practical designs, leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
  • Solid experience in the use of multiple modern technology methodologies and frameworks e.g. TOGAF
  • Experience with modelling solutions in Archimate.
  • Solid experience in modern toolsets and approaches e.g. Agile, collaboration, automation, security, cloud
  • Solid Architecture technology skillsets, experience and knowledge required include : Azure Datalake platform, Azure Data Engineering, Databricks, MS Power Platforms and PurView
  • Solid experience in engineering data ETL services.
  • Understanding of New Zealand Government Security standards (NZISM) and a secure by design methodology.You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori.

    • You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.At NZTA, it all starts with our people.
