By ensuring our kitchens and café are spotless, well-stocked and food-safe, you will help create a welcoming space where our people can recharge and connect.

Working alongside our Chef and Facilities team, you'll make sure coffee machines are ready to go, catering runs smoothly for meetings and events, and supplies are always on hand and available for staff purchases.

Your organisation, energy and eye for detail help keep everyone fuelled, focused and feeling their best and making a real difference to daily life at Douglas.

What you'll do Maintain three DPL kitchens to a spotless, well-stocked and food-safe standard – cleaning surfaces, cupboards and fridges, running and unpacking commercial size dishwashers, and replenishing tea, coffee, sugar and milk Making sure that the café (located in the main cafeteria) is stocked with snacks and food for staff purchasing Take charge of our coffee machines – setting them up each morning, keeping them clean throughout the day, and closing them down at day's end Assist with food preparation and baking, ensuring all tasks meet Auckland Council Food Safety Licence requirements Manage food storage and rotation, including labelling, dating and proper segregation Receive, unpack and organise food deliveries; order essentials (e.g. milk) and collect groceries off-site when required Provide hands-on support for catering at internal events and functions, including Board and Executive meetings Assist the Chef with ad-hoc tasks, helping deliver high-quality service to the business What you'll bring Strong service mindset - you love helping others and creating great experiences Full driver's licence to keep things moving Food Handling Certificate preferred (we'll support you to obtain and maintain it if you have experience, but not certified) Comfortable with basic computer / office systems - keen to learn more Confident communicator who builds positive relationships easily Super organised with great planning skills - you stay one step ahead Collaborative team player with a proactive, can-do attitude Punctual, reliable and a sharp eye for detail and high presentation standards - you take pride in what you do.
