Overview

Vector is building a future-focused energy company. The Senior Risk Partner will embed practical risk management across Vector, with a focus on asset management and operational teams. You will work with senior leaders and frontline teams to ensure risk is considered in day-to-day decisions and that controls are robust and effective. The role involves targeted assurance reviews, providing insights and advice, and supporting the integration of enterprise risk principles into operational planning and delivery. This is a highly visible, business-facing role focused on collaboration, proactive risk culture, and continuous improvement. You’ll have the autonomy to influence outcomes and contribute to both immediate operational success and long-term strategic objectives. Reporting to the General Manager Risk & Resilience, you’ll help deliver safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions for Auckland.

Responsibilities

  • Embed strong, practical risk management across Vector, particularly in asset management and operational teams
  • Conduct targeted assurance reviews and provide actionable insights and advice
  • Support integration of enterprise risk principles into operational planning and delivery
  • Build relationships with operational leaders to shape a proactive risk culture
  • Drive continuous improvement and influence decision-making processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational risk management, ideally within complex or asset-intensive environments
  • Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights for a range of audiences
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative and inclusive approach
  • Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Experience working in or alongside large infrastructure or asset management organisations is highly regarded
