CEO and Co-Founder @ possibl.ai | Member - Institute of Directors | AI Forum Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Working Group
About the Role
We're looking for someone who gets genuinely excited about solving gnarly problems with AI.
Not the "let's use the tool we know and make the problem fit" type – we mean someone who can architect real solutions that work in the messy reality of enterprise environments, using whatever tool actually fits the job.
What you'll be doing
Architecting AI agent systems and agentic orchestration frameworks that solve real business problems
Designing solutions across the full spectrum – low code platforms (Power Platform, Vertex AI Agent Builder), agent-to-agent communication patterns, MCP implementations, custom development, or hybrid approaches
Being genuinely solution-agnostic – matching the right tools to the problem, not the other way around
Translating complex business challenges into elegant technical solutions
Working across the full stack – from technical feasibility through to enterprise deployment
Building solutions that play nicely with enterprise systems (because legacy infrastructure isn't going anywhere)
Leading discovery workshops and turning client conversations into actionable architecture
Staying curious about emerging patterns (agent frameworks, orchestration models, new protocols) and assessing their real-world viability
Mentoring the squad and sharing knowledge (we're big on learning together)
You'll thrive here if you
Curiosity drives you – you're constantly exploring how things work and asking "what if we tried..."
Problem-solving is your natural state – you see challenges as puzzles to solve, not obstacles to avoid
Love the intellectual challenge of finding the right solution, not just the familiar one
Can objectively evaluate different platforms and approaches (Google Vertex, Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, open source frameworks, custom builds)
Understand agent architectures, orchestration patterns, and emerging protocols like MCP
Know your way around enterprise environments (security, compliance, integration – the fun stuff)
Can switch between white-boarding architecture and getting hands-on with implementation
Can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders without the jargon overload
Think in systems and patterns, not just point solutions
Are comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and saying "I don't know, let me find out"
Actually enjoy working with clients (seriously, this matters)
What we're not looking for
Someone with a favourite hammer looking for nails, who needs everything perfectly specified upfront, or thinks there's one "right" way to build AI solutions.
What you'll get
Real problems to solve with emerging technology
Freedom to recommend the best solution, not just the one we know
Smart clients doing interesting things
A team that values impact over busywork
Flexibility and autonomy (we're adults here)
The chance to shape how organisations use AI at a pivotal moment
The vibe
We're a Kiwi company doing serious work without taking ourselves too seriously.
We believe in collaboration, continuous learning, and building things that matter.
If you're the type who gets excited exploring new AI patterns, can turn that exploration into pragmatic architecture, and won't stop until you've found the right solution (not just a solution), let's talk.
