An interest in stroke, movement disorders and orthogeriatric liaison is encouraged.Our inpatient services in Whanganui is a 6 bed critical care unit, a 35-bed medical ward, 40-bed Surgical Ward, and a dedicated 16-bed Acute Stroke Unit / Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Ward.
The team consists of 6 General Physicians, 1 Rheumatologist and 2 Geriatricians.
We serve a population of approximately 65,000 residents and serves as a central hub for the 16,000 people residing in the surrounding districts across the region.We provide a six-bed critical care unit with tertiary support from Wellington Hospital.
Tertiary services such as cardio-thoracics, neurosurgery, paediatric surgery and cardiology are provided for our patients in Wellington.On 24 October
